Every outdoor space has its own distinctive character, and it is that "spirit of place" that I try to respect in designing and thinking about a site. Harmony between the house and its setting is the goal so that the design seems natural and fitting to its environment.

I have been a landscape designer for 12 years, working on a range of projects: from designing a garden of poisonous plants, to developing a mid-century urban courtyard garden, to the more usual... drawing up masterplans and  designs for borders, patios, and foundation plantings.

After several other careers, I enrolled in the Landscape Institute of Harvard University and the Arnold Arboretum, and graduated in 2008 with a post graduate Certificate in Landscape Design.
